Art on the Bay

Eastport, Maine
August 5 - 6, 2006

SILENT AUCTION:
Nanette McNaughton's
Ship Painting
Art on the Bay is a two day celebration of Eastport's art, culture, and natural beauty. Experience this small city's charm during the height of the summer season. Local music, antique car rides around the island, chili and chowder cook-off, a dog parade for the island's best friends, kayak paddles, and a silent auction of milk cans embellished by area artists. Listen to stories tall and short about the not too distant past: weir building, sardine packing, rum running, and island hopping. Life in Eastport continues to be full of surprises and delights. Come enjoy what it means to be a part of an island city perched on the edge of Passamaquoddy Bay.

An Eastport Walk-About Guide and a map and guide to Shackford Head are both available at the Eastport for Pride office, 93 Water Street. These will enhance your enjoyment of the beauty and architecture of the city. The bay may be explored by fishing or sailing with Eastport Windjammers, 104 Water Street, 853-2500, kayaking with Cobscook Hikes and Paddles, 63 Washington Street, 726-4776, or Scuba diving with Downeast Diving, 263-8251. Bring your fishing pole for free fishing and sightseeing from the Breakwater. Enjoy the art in the venues listed for the following days. You'll find that peace, relaxation and beauty abound in Eastport.
