1:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Celebrating The Commons - 41 Water St., Eastport.
This opening is a celebration of community, creativity, and collaboration at which the owners of The Commons will honor and cheer all of the efforts of so many who have come before us, those who have worked with us to bring this dream to life, and all who will come to share in the glory of this space and place. Between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00 PM, we will host tours, provide light refreshments of Whoopie! Pies, and enjoy the joyous music of the Celtic Smeltic Band. Puppets and their people from the Eastport Pupperty Collective will act as hosts for the event, and provide an ongoing thread of delight and creativity throughout the day. The public is welcome as our guests throughout the celebration.
1:00 PM - Fanfare for The Commons! - Music and introduction of The Commons' Partners by Special Guest Celebrity. Drawing for gift certificates to The Shop-At-The-Commons and May Baskets.
2:30 PM - Dedicating The Commons - Special musical performance cheering the builders and suppliers and recognizing the fine artisans who will be in The Shop-At-The-Commons. "The Common Good Awards" to local and state individuals and groups who are contributing in an exceptional way to making our homeplace and world more wonderful.
3:30 PM - A Sampler of Things to Come at The Commons - A little music, a goodly number of puppets, a look at our glorious earth and all we have in common, and some very good laughs. Drawing for gift certificates to The Shop-At-The-Commons and May Baskets.

3:00 PM - The organ at Centre St. Congregational Church, Machias, the largest tracker in Downeast Maine, has been renovated by David Wallace of Gorham, Maine. Three organists will play at a free concert honoring the organ's return--Robb Cook, David Wallace and Kevin Birch.
