A study was conducted in 2004-2005 to describe the fishery and market for Cobscook Bay sea scallops and help identify ways to increase the value of the fishery. The study suggested that opportunities exist to both sell Cobscook scallops to niche markets as a premium product and to increase sales of Cobscook scallops in local communities. Come talk about what some of these opportunities might be and hear what other communities are doing to market local food products. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. This is the fourth in a series of evening events that will be held this winter featuring stories and information about the Bay. The series will conclude with a Cobscook Bay Conference in March 2007. For more information call the Resource Center at 853-6607 or visit www.cobscook.org
